DHAKA: BNP will form human chain on Wednesday (March 6) demanding release of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia and her better treatment.

The hour-long programme will be held in front of National Press Club starting from 11am on the day.

Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, senior joint secretary general of BNP, announced the demo at a press conference at the party's Nayapaltan central office on Monday (Mar 4).

BNP chief has been in Dhaka Old jail since a special court sentenced her to five years imprisonment in Zia Orphanage Trust graft case on February 8, 2018. 

In the jail, Khaleda Zia’s physical condition is not good.  We are very worried about gradual falling of her health. She has been confined ‘unhealthy environment’ without treatment.  

The BNP leader called upon the government to release her from jail on bail and provide better treatment to her desired specialized hospital.
