Oikyafront’s Sultan Mansur sworn in as MP Md Sultan Mansur

DHAKA: Md Sultan Mansur, who won the Dec 30 elections under Jatiya Oikyafront, has taken oath as an MP of the 11th national parliament.   

He was sworn in by Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban, around 11am Thursday (Mar 7).

Md Sultan Mansur contested the national elections from Oikyafront ally Gono Forum, with BNP’s voting symbol ‘paddy of sheaf’ from Moulvibazar-2 constituency.

Before the polls, he stepped down as an organizing secretary of Awami League and joined the Dr Kamal Hossain led opposition alliance. 

Md Sultan Mansur is one of the two candidates of Gono Forum who won the national polls.

The other one, Mokabbir Khan, moved back from taking oath lately.
