DHAKA: Awami League Presidium member Mohammed Nasim urged other BNP-led Jatiya Oikyafront MPs-elect to take their oaths of office like Sultan Md Mansur Ahmed.
He made the remarks to reporters following an AL-led 14-party alliance meeting in the capital on Friday (March 8).
Mohammed Nasim said, “I expect all the MPs-elect from the BNP and other political parties to join the parliament in order to point out government’s flaws.”
“Otherwise, with only press briefings and sham movements, you (BNP) won’t be able free your chairperson (Khaleda Zia) from jail,” he added.
Earlier on March 7, Md Sultan Mansur, who won the Dec 30 elections under Jatiya Oikyafront, took oath as an MP of the 11th national parliament.
BNP-led Jatiya Oikyafront alliance won 7 seats in the 11th JS elections.
