DHAKA: A leader of Swecchasebak League and his wife, who sustained burn injuries in an air-conditioner explosion at a building in Dhaka’s Uttara, lost their battle for life.

They were admitted to the Burn & Plastic Surgery unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on March 19.

Alamgir Hossain Bhuiyan succumbed to injuries at the hospital Sunday (March 24).   

Bilkis Farzana Baby joined him around 12pm Monday (March 25).

DMCH Police Outpost In-Charge Inspector Bacchu Mia confirmed the matter to Banglanews.

Alamgir Hossain Bhuiyan, 50, president of Airport thana unit Swecchasebak League and his wife Bilkis Farzana Baby, Uttara West thana unit Mohila Awami League organizing secretary sustained 95% burn injuries to their bodies each as an air-conditioner exploded from an electric short-circuit at a building in Uttara sector-3 of the capital city on Mar 18.
