DHAKA UNIVERSITY (DU): The aggrieved leaders of Bangladesh Chhatra League gave an ultimatum on Tuesday (May 14) noon to dissolve its newly formed full-fledged committee by next 48 hours.
The leaders, who failed to get posts in the new committee, demanded a "meaningful formation" of the committee through thorough analyzing.
Dhaka University (DU) Shamsunnahar Hall unit BCL former general secretary Nipu Tonny announced the ultimatum at a press briefing held at Madhur Canteen around 1:30pm.
BCL's previous committee's publicity affairs secretary Saif Babu told the press briefing that inactive activists, former job holders, married persons, non-student, aged persons, drug addicts, accused in various cases and the persons expelled for life on charge of various evil activities were placed in the new committee instead of evaluating the majority ones who were active in BCL in the past.
He also demanded exemplary punishment for the persons who carried out an attack with locally made arms at a press briefing of the post-deprived Monday (May 13).
However, BCL announced its full-fledged committee on Monday.
