Names of BCL committee’s 99 controversial members released

DHAKA: Post-deprived leaders released a list of ninety nine controversial leaders of the newly announced full-fledged central committee of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), the student wing of ruling Awami League.

Saifuddin Babu, former publicity secretary of previous BCL central committee read out the written speech at the press conference at Madhur Canteen on the Dhaka University campus on Thursday (May 16) noon and revealed the list ot  controversial members of BCL committee 

Although, BCL general secretary Golam Rabbani claimed that only seventeen controversial leaders got different posts in the new committee. The BCL general secretary repeatedly said the BCL committee has been thoroughly analyzed.

If they get 17 names after a thorough analysis, then a little more analysis could be found hundred names, Saifuddin Babu added.

As per Prime Minister’s instruction for probing the allegations against the “controversial” leaders in the newly formed BCL central committee, the controversial ones should be find out and expel them from the organization, the former secretary of the BCL committee secretary Saifuddin Babu urged.

Post-deprived leaders, including BCL several hall units’ presidents and secretaries, were present there.

Earlier on Monday (May 13), the BCL announced its 301-member full-fledged central committee that created controversy and fueled demonstrations by post-deprived BCL leaders.

Earlier on July 31 in 2018, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina nominated Rezwanul Haque Chowdhury Shovon as president and Golam Rabbani as general secretary.

The same day, the PM declared a two-member committee of DU and Dhaka north and south units.
