JESSORE: A local Awami League leader and a transport worker were shot by miscreants in Taltola area on Dhaka-Jessore road in the district on Sunday.

The injured are Nazrul Islam, 52, Ward-1 Awami League general secretary also president of district’s tire traders’ association and Ripon, 28, a BRTC counter worker.

Officer-in-Charge of Jessore Kotwali Model Thana Emdadul Haque told banglanews: “The gang led by Fingye Liton shot them near Taltola area and they were rushed to Jessore Medical College Hospital.”
