DHAKA: Jatiya Party Secretary General Mashiur Rahman Ranga said the dengue situation has gone beyond control now due to negligence of Dhaka city corporations' two mayors.
"The finance minister couldn't place budget as he was infected with dengue. Such high numbers of people wouldn't die if initiative were taken then," he said.
Ranga was speaking at a press briefing over floods and dengue situations, at JP's Banani office Tuesday (August 6).
Mentioning the responsibility of using dengue medicine goes to the city corporations, not the government, he asked revelation of how the Tk 50 crore allocated to city corporation for dengue prevention has been spent.
JP Chairman GM Quader, Presidium member Shameem Haider Patwary and Joint Office Secretary MA Razzak, among others, attended the briefing.
