COMILLA: Police in a drive held nine suspected Shibir activists from Kotbari area Chhatra-Shibir hostel under Sadar South Upazila on Wednesday morning over the clash of Comilla Polytechnic.

The identity of detainees could not be known immediately.

Sadar South Thana Officer-in-Charge Gazi Shakhawat told banglanews, “All the detainees are Shibir activists and after investigation, they will be sent to court.”

Earlier on September 29, agitated polytechnic students vandalized vehicles of police and Upazila Nirbahi officer.

Meanwhile, eight police men and 25 students became injured in the incident.

Later, mentioning 33 names three cases were filed in Sadar South Thana.
