DHAKA: Awami League candidate Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh won a landslide victory in elections to Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC).
Taposh bagged 4,24,595 votes while his opponent BNP-nominated candidate Ishraque Hossain has bagged only 2,36,512 votes, according to unofficial result.
The voting began at 8:00am and continued till 4:00pm on Saturday (February 1).
There were 1,150 polling centers in DSCC.
The elections to Dhaka North and South City Corporations held through the electronic voting machine (EVM) method.
