Shibir-cops clash injures 4 in Jhenaidah

JHENAIDAH: At least four people including two police personnel were injured in a clash between Shibir activists and police on in district town Thursday morning.

Injured cops were rushed to Sadar Hospital.

Police and witnesses said that Shibir activists brought a procession as a part of their countrywide protest demanding release of their president Delwar Hossain.

On information police rushed to the spot and tried to disperse them. At one stage Shibir men locked into chase and counter chase with police.

They hurled cocktails and brick chips aiming police and police fired rubber bullets and tear shells to take the situation under control.

Confirming the matter to banglanews, Officer-in-Charge of Jhenaidah Thana Kazi Jalal Uddin said that raid was underway to arrest Shibir activists.
