Ershad says No election sans JP

DHAKA: Jatiya Party Chairman Hussain Muhammad Ershad categorically said the next general poll would not be held if Jatiya Party doesn’t participate in it.

Ershad made the assertion after the inauguration of the central office of the party at Kakrail of the capital on Friday afternoon.

He said, “Due to the recent political crisis, people are concerned whether the upcoming parliament election would be held or not. In this situation, next election would not hold if Jatiya Party does not participate.”

Former President termed Awami League and BNP government as great dictators and corrupted.

People want to get rid of them and will vote for Jatiya Party in the upcoming election, he added.

Secretary General of Jatiya Party Ruhul Amin Hawlader MP, presidium member Kazi Zafar Ahmed, Syed Abu Hossain Babla, Nur-e-Hasan Chowdhury Lily, Golam Habib Dulal among others were present in the programme.
