Md Habib Hasan from ruling Awami League has been sworn as the member of the parliament representing the Dhaka-18 constituency.

Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury administered the oath taking ceremony of Habib at the parliament on Tuesday afternoon, the Parliament Secretariat said.

Parliament Secretary Zafar Ahmed Khan moderated the brief ceremony attended by Deputy Speaker Md Fazle Rabbi Miah, Chief Whip Noor-E-Alam Chowdhury and Whip Iqbalur Rahim.

The Dhaka-18 constituency fell vacant after the death of former home minister Sahara Khatun on July 9. Habib won the by-election for the seat on November 12.
