Former MP and mayoral candidate of Saidpur municipality election Amzad Hossain Sarker dies from coronavirus infections at a Dhaka hospital on Thursday morning.

He breathed his last at Bangladesh Specialized Hospital around 6:30 am while undergoing treatment.

He was suffering from diabetes and lung diseases for long.

Amzad Hossain was elected MP from Nilphamari-4 constituency as a Bangladesh Nationalist Party candidate in 2001. He was elected mayor of the municipality four times and chairman of the upazila council once.
