Ershad decides to leave grand ally

DHAKA: Jatiya Party, a major ally of Awami League-led grand alliance, might leave the alliance any day.

Wishing anonymity, more than one presidium members of the party disclosed the matter to banglanews.

They said that though they are not sure, exactly when they will leave the alliance but the decision is sane percent true.

Senior members of Jatiya Party also hinted that they might join with the opposition BNP if the party can arrange strong movements against the incumbent government.

Sources said Jatiya Party might build another alliance with Krishak Sramik Janata League, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD), Jaker Party and various other small parties, outside of the Awami League-led Grand Alliance and BNP-led 18-party alliance.

Field level workers of Jaitya Party, through their position during the Gazipur City Corporation polls, also have influenced the senior leaders’ to take the decision, sources added.
