A Dhaka court on Sunday placed Hefazat-e-Islam’s Nayeb-e-Amir Ahmad Abdul Qader on a five-day remand in a case filed filed over the mayhem at Shapla Chattar, Motijheel on May 5, 2013.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate MohammadJashim passed the order after police had produced Abdul Qader with a 10-day remand plea.
A team of Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested Dr Abdul Kader from West Agargaon area in Dhaka on Saturday.
Several cases have been filed against him in connection with Hefazat’s clash at Shapla Chattar and the recent violence.
