Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested two associates of suspended member of an Awami League subcommittee Helena Jahangir.

The arrestees are Hajera Khatun and Sanaullah Nuree. 

They were arrested from Dhaka’s Gabtoli area on Monday night.

ASP ANM Imran Khan, Senior Assistant Director, Legal and Media Wing, RAB Headquarters, confirmed the matter to Banglanews.

Further details regarding them will be disclosed at a press conference to be held at RAB’s media centre in the afternoon.

A total of four cases have been filed against Helena with Pallabi and Gulshan Police Stations. She was arrested from her Gulshan residence on Thursday night.

Helena, the founder and CEO of Jayayatra Television, became a member of the AL Central Subcommittee on Women Affairs on January 18.

Earlier, she became a member of the advisory council of Cumilla (north) unit of AL.

Helena was arrested a few days after she was relieved of the membership of Awami League’s women affairs subcommittee on charges of breaching disciplines of the party.
