Activists of BNP and police personnel clashed at Chandrima Udyan in Dhaka when the party people thronged there for placing wreaths at the grave of BNP founder Ziaur Rahman.
Several BNP activists were injured as the police hurled tear gas shells at them, said Dhaka North unit BNP president Amanullah Aman.
Leaders and activists of the newly formed BNP south and north units gathered at Chandrima Udyan for placing wreaths at the grave of the party founder.
The police, however, barred them from entering the udyan triggering the clash at around 10:30am that lasted for around half an hour.
BNP activists hurled brickbats and the police lobbed tear has sells and rubber bullets.
Several persons including BNP Dhaka city north unit's member secretary Aminul Haque were injured in the attack, said party people.
