Awami League MP from Sirajganj-6 constituency and freedom fighter Hasibur Rahman Swapan died of coronavirus early Thursday.  He was 66.

He breathed his last at a hospital in Turkey at around 3:15am, Swapan’s Personal Assistant and Shahjadpur upazila Juba League’s Convener Ashikur Rahman Dinar told Banglanews.

His body will be brought to Bangladesh on Friday (Sep 3), Dinar said, adding he will be buried in Shahjadpur after Janaza.

Swapan left behind wife, three daughters and a host of relatives and admirers to mourn his death.
