Eyes of Chattogram Awami League youth and sports secretary and Abahoni founder Didarul Alam Chowdhury are filled with tears, hearing names of whip Shamsul Hoque Chowdhury and his son Nazmul Karim Chowdhury Sharun.
Didarul Alam Chowdhury, also vice-president of Chattogram district Krira Sangstha and senior vice-chairman of Bangladesh Blind Cricket Council, had to undergo a lot of persecution and humiliation committed by Shamsul and his son.
“I seek justice from Allah for embezzlement of Chattogram Abahoni fund, persecution and humiliation of me on the part of whip and his son,” he said.
Talking to journalists, he recalled the contribution and sacrifice he and others made to the improvement of Abahoni and sports only to see corruption and persecution by whip family.
“After burial of my little son, I went to field with my team. Former general secretary Manjurul Alam passed away a few days back. Former general secretary Faizul Kabir, Manjurul Alam, Zamir Uddin Bulu and Mafizur Rahman were not allowed to see international football tournament. We faced the redeye of whip family for raising voice against their misdeeds. For sending letter to block Abahoni bank account, Sharun misbehaved with me. I informed all concerned of the incident. I seek justice from Allah for persecution committed by Shamsul and Sharun.”
About leak of Sharun’s telephonic conversation and misbehavior, Didar said “Nobody knew the incident for seven days. I kept the matter secret. But I filed GD for personal security. Later, I sent copies of the GD to DGFI and police commissioner. Finally, the incident was disclosed. I did not want to disclose it to protect my honour. Allah will punish them.”
Whip’s son used to arrange casino in Abahoni club and committed unsocial activities, he said adding that Sharun earned Tk 6 lakh per night. He used to maintain cadre group to ensure uninterrupted continuation of the crimes.
Terming Shamsul a chameleon, he said “Stealing of typewriter by world cheater Shamsul is known to all. He was involved in the politics of BNP and Jatiya Party. Making fortune from those parties, he joined Awami League and abused the party for bread and butter. He took money from people in the name of housing society. Later, he cheated with most of the depositors.”
