Fire at city Juba League office

DHAKA: Some miscreants set fire to Juba League Banani Thana unit office in the capital’s Banani area early Thursday.

Witnesses said that pouring petrol 8 to 10 youths set fire to the office of youth wing of ruling Awami League at around 5:30am and fled the scene.

Later, locals extinguished the fire after half an hour effort.

Meanwhile, television, fan, picture of Bangabandhu, chair, table and others necessary items burnt in the fire.

Metropolitan Juba League Ward no 20 Vice president Kazi Rashed told banglanews, “Jamaat-Shibir activists are conducting the subversive acts and it’s also a part of that.

Confirming the matter, Banani police station Second Officer Abu Bakar told banglanews, “On information, police force rushed to the spot but not clear who set the fire.”
