Man killed in Ctg union council poll violence

A man was killed in a clash between supporters of opposing candidates in the union council polls in Anwara Upazila of Chattogram on Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Ankur Dutta, 35, son of Nepal Dutta.

Thana election officer Syed Md Anwar Khaled confirmed the matter.

The clash took place between supporters of member candidates Nazim Uddin and Raghunath Sarker in the Singhara area of Chitori Union around 12:30 pm.

Ankur was critically injured in the violence and taken to the local health complex, he said adding later he was shifted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
