BNP vice-chairman and former mayor of Gazipur City Corporation Professor MA Mannan passed away at a hospital in the capital on Thursday afternoon.

The former minister breathed his last while undergoing treatment at Hospital around 4.30 pm.

BNP chairperson's press wing member Shairul Kabir Khan confirmed the matter.

The 72-year-old BNP leader was admitted to the emergency department of the hospital on Wednesday night and put on life support as his health condition deteriorated further.

He was suffering from various old age complications for a long time.
