BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia will remain under close observation of doctors for 72 hours as she has two additional blockages in her blood vessels and other health complications at Dhaka’s Evercare Hospital.
BNP Chairperson’s personal physician Professor AZM Zahid Hossain said it on Sunday.
He also said that three blocks were found in the angiogram Madam [Khaleda] underwent yesterday and one of them was a 95 percent block in a main vessel on the left side of her body, which led to the heart attack.
“Doctors say it would not be right to comment on her condition before 72 hours have passed since the operation and currently, she is under close observation at the CCU,” he added.
Earlier on Saturday (July 11), physicians at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka installed ring in the heart of BNP chairperson following her acute heart attack.
Earlier in the day, BNP leaders and activists hold a rally in front of Jatiya Press Club demanding the party chairperson Khaleda Zia's advanced treatment abroad.
A medical board of the hospital advised Khaleda's family to take her abroad for advanced treatment.
However, Awami League (AL) General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Saturday said that doctors can be brought from abroad for treatment of Khaleda Zia, if necessary.
On the same day, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal also said that court permission is needed to take BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia abroad for treatment.
Home Minister further said that Khaleda Zia is currently a convict in a case.
On the other hand, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said doctors have advised Khaleda Zia to be taken abroad for advanced treatment.
He also urged the government for the immediate release of the party Chairperson to go abroad for advanced treatment as she suffered a mild heart attack.
