Helal Akbar Chowdhury Babar, former deputy finance secretary of the Central Juba League urged all to say no to drugs in building a healthy society and skilled manpower.
He made this remark while addressing an anti-drug rally organized by Nandankanan Club at Chattogram on June 26 marking International Anti-Drug Day.
Helal Akbar, the inventor of the Corona Resistance Booth, was present as the chief guest at the event.
He also said that drug addiction is a major problem as is one of the deadliest diseases of modern civilization.
Drugs have destroyed the lives and families of countless successful scholars, intellectuals and other successful people in the world, he added.
He further said that this problem is becoming more and more evident day by day. If a member of a family becomes addicted to drugs, a horrible environment descends on that family. The problems that surround drug addiction can lead a family to disaster.
Samir Sakir Chowdhury, president of Nandankanan Club, Monwar Jahan Moni, vice-president of city Swechchhasebak League's, Sourav Bikash Barua Bitan, M Qutbuddin Chowdhury, Shibu Prasad Chowdhury an many others were present at the event.
