Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP)’s standing committee member Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain has blamed the government for power outages in the country.
BNP’s this leader made the allegation at a discussion at the Dhaka Reporters' Unity auditorium on Wednesday (July 7) noon.
Former Chief Whip of the BNP Chairperson's Advisory Council member Zainul Abdin Farooq was present at the meeting.
Former BNP MP ABM Ashraf Uddin Nizan, executive committee member Abu Naser Muhammad Rahmatullah and Juba Dal organizing secretary Isaac Sarkar spoke at the meeting chaired by ‘Nationalist new party’ president Humayun Ahmed Talukder and general secretary Sohail Rana.
Mosharraf Hossain said for the last 14 years, the government has not taken any action regarding the extraction and distribution of gas.
Gas production has not increased in the country, we depended on imported gas. Due to this mismanagement, the country today facing this crisis, he said.
Criticizing the rental power project, Khandaker Musharraf said the government had brought rental power only to please a syndicate, for which the price of electricity below Tk 2 during our rule is now above Tk 10.
