As many as three cases were filed against 400 people on Friday night in connection with the clash between the police and activists of BNP in Banskhali upazila of Chattogram.
Banskhali Thana Police filed the cases on Friday (Aug 26) night, said Officer-in-Charge (OC) of the thana Kamal Uddin.
In the case, former President of Chattogram South District BNP and former Minister Zafarul Islam Chowdhury, South District BNP Convener Abu Sufian and its Member Secretary Mostak Ahmed have named 66 people and more than 300-400 unnamed leaders and activists of the BNP were sued in the cases.
"Police have so far arrested six people in this connection," the OC added.
Kamal Uddin told that 66 people have been named after watching the video footage and three cases have been filed against another 300 to 400 people for assaulting on police, obstruction of government work and human traffic and cocktail explosion.
Earlier, BNP took out a procession and lodged this clash in front of Kalipur Ezarul Hoque High School premises at Banskhali upazila on Friday afternoon.
Banshkhali upazila and municipality of BNP organised the protest rally as part of their countrywide programme against the price hike of essential commodities, fuel and transport fares, unbearable load shedding and killing of their two leaders in Bhola.
