BNP has decided to continue its programmes in metropolitan cities and their all wards, districts and upazilas till September 10, in protest against the ongoing load shedding and the killing of two leaders of its associate bodies by police in Bhola. 

Party secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir made the announcement at a press conference organised at Naya Paltan in the capital on Monday (Aug 29). 

He said that the party is now holding a protest program nationwide to protest against the ongoing load shedding and the killing of two leaders including Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal leader Noor-e-Alam and Swechchasebak Dal leader Abdur Rahim in Bhola by police.

This protest movement has created an unprecedented stir among people across the country, he added.  

He further claimed that people have taken to the streets to protest as the people of the entire country became fed up with the oppressive government.

On August 17, BNP announced to continue protest rallies and demonstrations in metropolitan cities and in all wards, districts and upazilas from August 22 which is now extended till September 10.
