Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) today (Sep 18) staged a rally in front of its Nayapaltan central office in the capital protesting the recent attacks on the political party's activities.

The party Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir joined the programme as the chief guest.

However, the protest rally is also going on at every district and upazila level including Dhaka metropolis on Sunday. 

Earlier on Saturday night, several BNP’s leader including Tabith Awal were injured after activists of ruling Awami League attacked a candlelit programme of BNP in the capital's Banani area. 

Besides, the same day, BNP Vice-Chairman Barkat Ullah Bulu and his wife were allegedly attacked by Awami League men on their way from the capital to Noakhali.  

On September 15, leaders and activists of BNP and Awami League locked into a clash in Dhaka's Mirpur area, leaving several people injured.
