Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, secretary general of BNP remarked yesterday's power blackout was a 'total failure of the government's development plan'.
The Secretary General made this remark while responding to a question on blackout in most districts including Dhaka, Chattagram, Sylhet for six hours on Tuesday (October 4).
"We feel that this happened due to a total failure of the government, and the problem relating to planning, structural and technical matters, and widespread theft in the power sector," said Mirza Fakhrul.
What can be understood from yesterday's situation is the government has done many projects in the name of power generation and has made a lot of money. In the end, it turned out to be a big disaster, he added.
Due to yesterday's incident mobile network-internet, all factories, filling stations, and education of students stopped. Nation has gone through an unbearable situation, said Fakhrul.
