DHAKA: Andy Murray took to Twitter last night to post a photo of himself recovering in hospital after back surgery.

The world number three underwent a procedure to solve an ongoing problem with a disc in his lower back and is expected to miss the rest of the season, including the ATP World Tour Finals at London`s O2 in November.

The Wimbledon champion posted the photo on Twitter, saying: "Thanks for all the well wishes, means a lot to me.”

Murray sustained the injury in May at the Rome Masters and had to pull out of the French Open after receiving advice from specialists.
