The results of the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations of 2025 were published with a pass rate of 58.83% across the nine general education boards, the madrasa board and the technical education board on Thursday (Oct 16).
The outcome represents an 18.95-percentage-point decline from last year.
Announcing the figures at a press conference at the Dhaka Education Board in Bakshibazar at 10 am, the chairman of the Dhaka Education Board and president of the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee, Prof. Dr. Khondokar Ehsanul Kabir, detailed the pass rates by board.
Also present were the Dhaka Education Board Secretary, Prof. Dr. Md. Jahangir Alam, and the Controller of Examinations, Prof. S. M. Kamal Uddin Haidar.
Among the general boards, the pass rates were: Dhaka 64.62 percent; Rajshahi 59.40 percent; Cumilla 48.86 percent; Jashore 50.20 percent; Chattogram 52.57 percent; Barishal 62.57 percent; Sylhet 51.86 percent; Dinajpur 57.49 percent; and Mymensingh 51.54 percent.
Besides, the pass rates for the Technical Education Board and the Madrasa Education Board are 62.67 percent and 75.61 percent, respectively.
Students were told they could access their results from 10 am on Thursday (October 16), the Dhaka board chair added.
