Wednesday’s HSC exams out of hartal purview

CHITTAGONG: The scheduled examinations of Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) for Wednesday will be held as per routine in spite of calling dawn-to-dusk hartal in greater Chittagong on that day by Jamaat.

Confirming the matter to banglanews, Dr Pijush Dutta confirmed that exam would be held on due time.

Earlier, port city Jamaat called the hartal protesting the arrest of city Jamaat Ameer and secretary. Besides, the party also staged rallies at all upazilas and thanas on Tuesday.  

Chittagong Jamaat Nayeb-e-Ameer M Ahsan Ullah told banglanews that the party also declared that the vehicles– carrying HSC examinees, patients and goods of the education boards will be out of the purview of the hartal.

It was scheduled to take the theoretical exam of Chemistry 2nd paper, Islamic History 1st paper, History 1st paper, House Management, Child Care and Family Relations 1st paper at 10:00am while Economics and Commercial Geography 1, Music 1 and Drama 1 in the afternoon 2:00pm.

Earlier on Monday the law enforcement agency arrested 21 Jamaat men, including port city Jamaat Ameer and former lawmaker ANM Shamsul Islam in Chittagong.
