SANGSAD BHABAN:  Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni said maximum number of educational institutions will come under Monthly Pay Order (MPO) scheme this year.

Dr Dipu Moni came up with this statement in response to a question from an MP at the third budget session of the 11th Jatiya Sangsad on Tuesday (June 11).

Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury presided over the session. 

Dr Dipu Moni said: “The country has progressed so much. Financial capacity is much higher than any other time before that is why we’ll be able to include maximum number of educational institutions under MPO scheme. Educational institutions at each constituency, which are performing well, will indeed have the scope to come under MPO scheme.”

The minister said she has nothing to do beyond the policy in her capacity as a minister regarding inclusion of MPO status. She hoped to include maximum number institutions under MPO scheme.

“There is no room for leniency in MPO policy except for remote region, ethnic minority, education for handicapped and women,” she added.
