A fourth-grader, Arin Sharma, has won lifetime scholarship from Bashundhara Food and Beverage Industries Limited (BFBIL).

Bashundhara Group Vice-Chairman Shafiat Sobhan handed over a token certificate to the 10-year-old Arin Sharma, a, at a function at Bashundhara Industrial Headquarters-2 in the capital on Monday.

The boy, hailing from Kushtia, is seen embracing a packet of Bashundhara Atta with great affection. 

A representative of the company took a photograph out of curiosity and sent it to the BFBIL head office. Later, the photo was used in a banner of the sales conference of the company.

As the photo caught the attention of Bashundhara Group Vice-Chairman Shafiat Sobhan, he directed the sales team to find out the boy who had showed such great love for the company.

He pledged to bear all educational expenses of Arin Sharma and provide him with a job on completion of his education.

Shafiat Sobhan directed the officials to continue such initiative to support a child every year with lifetime scholarship, a unique initiative from BFBIL

He said his company will continue such scholarship to support thousands of kids like Arin Sharma to fulfil their cherished dreams.

The exquisite smile of Arin Sharma embracing the 2-kg packet of Bashundhara Atta drew the attention of all, including the Bashundhara Group Vice-Chairman Shafiat Sobhan.

Arin Sharma hails from Jhaudia village under Islamic University Police Station of Kushtia. He is a student of Jhaudia Bazar Primary School. His father Akhil Sharma, who is a goldsmith, somehow maintains a four-member family.

Akhil expressed his gratitude to Bashundhara Group for taking the responsibility of his son’s education and assurance of job in future.

“We’re grateful for having the great support which will help fulfil the dream of our family. I hope my son will contribute to the wellbeing of the people through his noble work,” he said.

BFBIL chief human resources officer Captain (retd) Shaikh Ehsan Reza, chief operating officer (Supply chain) Abdus Shukur, COO (Brand and marketing) MM Jasim Uddin, coordinator to the vice-chairman Abdur Rahman and head of accounts Belal Hossain were also present on the occasion.

BFBIL produces flour, finest flour, semolina and wheat-made products under the brand name of Bashundhara.
