At least 14 dengue patients died while 2,115 others were hospitalised in 24 hours till 8 am today (September 6), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

In the 24 hours, 833 dengue patients were admitted in Dhaka while 1,282 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital, said the DGHS release.

Besides, this year a total 671 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.

According to DGHS, this year till today 3,946 patients are undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Dhaka while 5,181 other patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

A total of 1, 38,022 were infected by the Dengue virus this year. Of them, 63,273 were in Dhaka and 74,479 were outside of the capital, according to the DGHS press release.

As many as 1, 28,224 Dengue patients recovered this year. Of them, 58,841 were released from hospitals in Dhaka while 69,383 others left hospitals outside the capital. 

Last year, a total of 281 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh. However, 28,429 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue while 28,265 patients recovered in last year.
