JBFH provides free healthcare services

DHAKA: Japan-Bangladesh Friendship Hospital (JBFH) has provided free healthcare services to people aged above 60 on Wednesday.

The initiative was taken on the occasion of International Day of Older Persons, said a press release.

The campaign was inaugurated at premises of the hospital at Dhanmondi in the city with holding a discussion and a health fair in the morning, the news release added.

However, after inaugural, the JBFH team served at least 200 elderly persons till noon with the theme of 'Leaving No One Behind: Promoting a Society for All’.

The elderly persons have been provided free blood pressure check-up, measuring height, weights and blood sugars under the campaign.

Moreover, they have been given a 5-year discount card there with which the elderly persons would take treatments at a lower cost.

North South University Health and Life Science Department Dean Professor GU Ahsan, Ashaloy Housing and Developers Ltd Chairman Omar Faruk and renowned Psychiatrist Dr Mohit Kamal attended the campaign.

Former adviser of caretaker government Zillur Rahman Siddique also spoke.
