Medical teams on Ebola at ports sought

DHAKA: A writ has been filed in the High Court seeking medical teams to conduct screening for Ebola at all the ports, including airports, of the country.

Supreme Court lawyer Advocate Manjil Morshed filed the writ on Thursday.

In the writ, the petitioner sought its directives regarding specialized medical treatment, sending Ebola patients to specific hospitals, supplies of necessary machineries and medicines.

However, the writ also sought court’s directives asking authorities concerned for medical treatment for the six patients who came from Africa to the country.

Health secretary, home secretary, directorate general of health services director general, immigration and passport department director general and civil aviation chairman were made defendants in the writ.
