Bangladesh today confirmed 45 deaths from coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours, raising the death toll to 8,994. 

According to the Health authorities, 5,042 people have tested positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours raising the total number of coronavirus cases in the country to 605,937. 

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) disclosed the update of the country’s coronavirus situation issuing a press release this afternoon.

In the last 24 hours, 2,162 patients were declared free of Covid-19 during the same period, raising the total number of recoveries to 540,180, the release added.

Bangladesh reported its first Coronavirus case on March 8 in last year while first death on March 18 in that year.
