Bangladesh today confirmed 7,087 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours raising the total number of cases in the country to 637,364.

This is the highest in a single day spike after the country had reported its first case on March 8 in last year.

According to the Health authorities, 53 more died from coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours, raising the death toll to 9,266. 

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) disclosed the update of the country’s coronavirus situation issuing a press release this afternoon.

Bangladesh, however, reported first death from the virus infection on March 18 in that year.
