GAZIPUR: The authorities concerned declared 20 readymade garments factories of Konabari, Kaliakoir, Ashulia and Sataish closed due to workers unrest on Tuesday.

Sources said hundreds of workers of some garment factories blockaded Baroipara-Jalsuka road and staged protest around 10:00am demanding to implement wage structure given by wage commission for garment workers.

Besides, a clash took place at two garment factories in Kaliakoir and Sataish area in different time, leaving at least 10 workers injured.

After the incidents, the authorities concerned of 20 garment factories declared the factories closed.

Industrial police inspector M Selim confirmed the matter to banglanews.
