DHAKA: Visiting US Assistant Secretary for South and Central Asian Affairs Nisha Desai Biswal hold a meeting on Monday morning with Gowher Rizvi, International Affairs adviser to the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The one-hour long meeting was held at US ambassador to Bangladesh Dan W Mozena’s residence from 9:00am.
In the meeting, Rizvi clarified Nisha Desai about the government’s initiatives to form a polls-time all-party interim government and the election procedure.
During the time, Rizvi assured the US Assistant Secretary about incumbent government’s promise to hold a free and fair election.
He also clarified about the all-party cabinet that will take oath in the afternoon.
Nisha Desai Biswal is scheduled to leave the country Monday afternoon.
In her three-day visit to Bangladesh, Nisha Desai met with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, opposition leader Kahleda Zia, noble laureate economist Dr Yunus and the representatives of noted citizens.
