Three members, including the chief of a new militant outfit Tawhidul Uluhiah (Al -Jihadi), were arrested from the capital and north and south parts of the country.

The members of the Anti-Terrorism Unit (ATU) of police held Jewel Molla, 29, the chief, Rahul Hossain, 21and Gaziul Islam, 40, from the areas from September 13 to Saturday.

DIG (Ops) of the ATU Abdul Alim revealed this to reporters at a press briefing at the ATU Headquarters in the capital the day.

He said the outfit was launched about two to three months ago.

"The members of the organisation had a plan to carry out terror attacks in the country in 2024," said the DIG.

The Police unit came to know that the outfit so far drew about 80 people to it.

He said that the police could bust the organisation before its destructive acts.
