President Mohammed Shahabuddin today (September 21) said the country's judiciary would hopefully continue its efforts to ensure justice for the litigants.
He expressed his optimism when outgoing Chief Justice (CJ) Hasan Foez Siddique paid a courtesy on him at Bangabhaban in the capital.
The President thanked him for bringing dynamism to the judiciary under his leadership and introducing 'digital technology' in the judicial process, said President's Press Secretary Md Joynal Abedin after the meeting.
The Head of State expressed satisfaction with the increased rate of case disposal and thanked the Chief Justice for discharging his duties in efficient and successful manner.
The President also appreciated the recruitment process in the judicial service during his (CJ) tenure as the Chairman of the Judicial Service Commission.
The outgoing CJ also expressed his gratefulness to the President for providing all sorts of cooperation in discharging his duties in the SC.
The President was apprised by the CJ of the overall activities, including the progress of the case disposal along with all the activities of the Appellate Division, High Court Division and lower court proceedings and infrastructural development of Bangladesh SC.
The chief justice informed that the lower court cases' disposal rate in many cases has been achieved about cent percent while the disposal rate of those in the Appellate Division of the Bangladesh Supreme Court has also increased significantly.
