The government on Sunday (October 1) has given its decision denying BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia to go abroad for better treatment.

The Law Minister Anisul Huq said while talking to reporters at his ministry office in the afternoon today.

He said once a petition under Section 401 of the Act is disposed, there is no room in the law to reconsider.

When asked if Khaleda Zia's family wants to send her abroad for treatment, then what process should be followed, the minister said, the application, on which the government has suspended the jail sentence of Khaleda Zia and released her from jail on two conditions that can be reconsidered.

When asked whether Section 401 will be canceled or not, the minister said, “Cancellation would be inhumane. I will not cancel.”
