The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has summoned 13 people, including Dr Muhammad Yunus, for quizzing in a money laundering case.
The summoned people have been asked to appear in ACC office on October 5 at 12:30 am, confirmed ACC source on Tuesday (Oct 3).
ACC deputy director Md Gulshan Anwar signed a letter in this regard and sent it on September 27.
The letter said, “In the interest of fair investigation into the embezzlement of Tk 25. 22 crore, your statement needed to be heard and taken into consideration. You are requested to appear at the office on October 5 at 12:30 noon to give a statement and to cooperate in the investigation.”
According to the allegation, most of Grameen Telecom's transactions since 1996 are suspicious. Not only that, the organization also wants to investigate the money laundering allegations made by the workers to the ILO.
