CHITTAGONG: Two people were killed and two others injured in a road accident on Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Mithachhara by-pass area under Mirsarai upazila of the district on Thursday.

The deceased were identified as M Shahjahan, 50, and Fazlul Haque, 50.

Police sources said a pick-up van crashed into a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in the area at noon, leaving two passengers of the auto rickshaw dead on the spot and two others, including the driver of the auto-rickshaw, injured.

The injured were rushed local hospital.

Assistant Sub-Inspector of Jorarganj Thana Shafiqur Rahman confirmed the matter to banglanews24.com.
