The five journalists are - Sikander Hossain (Dainik Samakal Sitakunda Correspondent), Enayet Hossain Mithu (Dainik Kaler Kantho and Daily Purbakon Mirsarai Correspondent), Mahbubur Rahman Palash (Dainik Jugantar and Daily Azadi Mirsarai Correspondent), Zahirul Islam (Amar Sangbad Sitakunda Correspondent), and Mohammad Yusuf (Dainik Ittefaq Mirsrai representative).

On May 22, 2021, news published by Dainik Kaler Kantho under the title 'Ora Pratarak' was shared on social media Facebook. For this reason, a person named Nurul Kabir Shah Dulal filed the case against five journalists of Mirsarai and Sitakunda upazilas on June 26, 2021 at the Cyber Tribunal Court in Chattogram.
