A youth was stabbed to death and another injured due to quarrel that took place on Facebook in Golapganj upazila of Sylhet on Thursday (October 19).

The deceased Tajel Ahmad, 17, is the son of Mayan Mia of Amura village of Amura union. 

The injured identified as Tanvir Ahmed.

The incident took place near Shahi Eidgah in front of Amini Bazaar in Amura Union of Upazila around 7 pm.

Quoting Tanvir police said that few weeks ago, Tanvir had an argument with Apu Ahmed of Kadmarsul village of the same union over Facebook Messenger. Later, Apu, along with five to six youths, came to attack Tanvir, but stabbed Tajel to death when he came to save Tanvir.

They were then rushed to Golapganj Upazila Health Complex, where the doctor declared Tajel dead, police said.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Golapganj Model Police Station Rafiqul Islam confirmed the matter.
