Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) vice-chairman Shamsuzzaman Dudu was picked up from his sister’s home in the Cantonment area in Dhaka early Monday.

A team of about 15 people, identifying themselves as members of detective branch of police, picked him up sometimes after 12:00am.

BNP chairperson’s press wing official Shamsuddin Didar confirmed the matter. 

The team also picked up Dudu’s nephew and businessman Hasnat Ashraf, he said.

Earlier on Sunday, law enforcers arrested BNP’s two other vice chairmen -- Altaf Hossain Chowdhury and Shahjahan Omar -- from the capital.
